When Is Implant Repair Necessary?

Dental implant repair is a procedure that is performed to fix implants that have become damaged. When the implant is damaged, it may reduce your ability to eat and speak properly. Before the damage gets worse, it's important to visit our office for a repair. Dental repair is needed for several reasons such as:

The implant has become loose

The implant has broken

There is damage to the surrounding teeth

The Implant Repair Process

If you have a dental implant that needs to be repaired, we will first assess the damage and then determine the best course of action. In some cases, we may be able to simply tighten the implant. However, if the damage is more severe, we may need to replace the entire implant. Implant repair is done by making a small incision in the gums and then accessing the implant. Once we have repaired or replaced the implant, we will close the incision with sutures.

What Happens if My Implant Is Not Repaired?

If your dental implant is not repaired, the damage can get worse. This can lead to more extensive damage to the implant or surrounding teeth. In addition, you may experience pain or difficulty eating and speaking. If you think you may need implant repair, it's important to visit our office so we can assess the damage and determine the best course of action.
